Why can’t I change Start/Finish dates for sub-projects?

Subprojects have no calendar pickers for Start and Finish dates or for durations. This is because Start, Finish and Durations for subprojects are calculated based on the Tasks they contain.

VISEData Error When Downloading Project x Installer

File corruption can occur when packets get dropped during the download process. This can happen when downloading a large file over a slow connection.  Another cause is if you are running virus protection software or you are behind a firewall that is not configured to allow the data transfer.  Try disabling the virus software and/or the firewall temporarily, then try the download again.

How do I get a summary report to print to a single page?

In Project X 1.0 – 1.5.2 click on the triangle in the Print dialog and check “Fit to Page” then Print.
In Project X 2 and later, check the “Fit In One Page” checkbox in the Print dialog.

How can I have all of my resources vacation schedules in one place?

If your resource’s vacation schedules are maintained on a CalDav Server, Project X can be linked to the CalDav server in the Project X > Preferences > Collaboration panel. You can level resources against CalDav and know if a resource is available or not.

Can I Convert a Task into a Sub-Project?

As long as there are no resources assigned to the Task, yes. Open the Task Inspector and in the Dates tab click the Type drop down menu and choose Subproject or Milestone to change the Task type. You can also change a task type by clicking and dragging a Task, Subproject or Milestone into a Task. This will automatically convert the Task to a Subproject. Keep in mind that sub-projects cannot have resources assigned to them. Sub-projects serve as a container for tasks that may or may not have resources assigned to them. Also a Sub-project will not allow you to assign a Start or Finish date to the sub-project alone. It displays the earliest Start date and latest Finish date of the tasks it contains.

When I move a task, other tasks change their date as well. What am I doing wrong?

You need to apply a constraint when moving the task.  Choose a constraint in order to fix a task to one date.

Every time i quit and restart the software it asks me to reactivate

Are you connected to the Internet when launching Project X? Activation requires communication with our server in order to complete the process. If there is no connection, the program will ask for the key each time it is launched. Another possibility is if the connection is getting blocked by your firewall.

If you are unable to resolve this, contact Technical Support at support@projectx.com for further assistance.

When I launch Project X I get a message that reads, “license limit exceeded”

A single user license cannot be used at the same time on two or more Macs on the same LAN. You will need to quit Project X on all other Macs on the network and relaunch it on one computer. If you require additional licenses please contact sales@marware.com.

How do I remove an obsolete project from the Web App?
